Garlic

I love garlic. I love to grow it and love to eat it.

I will never forget the first time I brought fresh, locally grown garlic home with me from the farmers market and cooked with it. The intensity and richness of flavor that burst forth and captivated my taste buds was unlike anything I'd experienced from garlic purchased at the store. When the garlic farmer stopped attending the market a couple years later, my cooking lost a level of excitement that could never quite be replaced. It wasn't until some time later that this wonder would come back into my kitchen.

The first time I grew garlic from seed was in 2019. A dear friend gave me a couple of bulbs to eat that he had grown on his farm. I took it home, sliced some up and put it on a pizza. The moment I took that first bite of this oh-so-delicious vegetable, my taste buds were immediately flooded with memories of years ago. Inspired more than ever, I decided to try and grow my own garlic. I've been hooked ever since.
